The motel is being refurbished. It has been closed for a period of time, I think since Katrina. The refurbishment is not luxurious but very functional. The staff was quick to correct any deficiencies such as going out to get ice since the ice machine is yet to be installed. They expect to have all the work done for the super bowl and Mardi-Gra . Given their care and commitment to making it a comfortable and affordable option on the bus routes to the rest of the big eeasy I would expect it to continue to be a bargain.
More interior doors or curtains needed.

Manager was friendly and funny, and tried to make sure all my needs were met. Room was cozy and comfortable, heater worked really well on a cold night.
Older building with not enough electric outlets, so rooms could use a power strip or two. No bathroom door in my room, but fortunately I was by myself. Building is under new ownership/management and they do have plans for upgrading... A work in progress, and still worth the cost!

The manager was very nice. We left some boots there and he called us so we could go back and get them
There was no door on the bathroom!!! That is inexcusable!! The tile was cracked and there were holes in the bedspread. All in all it was a huge disappointment. But the manager was nice. I would not have stayed there for free if I would have seen it first

Nothing. This hotel should be condemned. We actually didn't stay, they lost our reservation and sent us to a hotel 2 blocks away that was nearly just as bad. Rough neighbourhood, but the guy running it was decent.
Rough neighbourhood, these buildings wouldn't be in operation in most developed cities. They lost our reservation, you check in to the place on the street. It is basically fit for drug addicts that wouldn't know the difference where they slept.

Clean, price,
If I wanted a 5 star I would have had to pay more, this was good for the price, no amendities and no doors on bathrooms, if you are sharing a room make sure you don't mind sharing a look of your body

The light outside the window is very bright through the whole night. It will make you hard to fall asleep.
